The Glockner Dare to Dream high school regional business pitch competition is an annual event that gives area high school students the opportunity to create a business idea and pitch it to a panel of judges for the chance to win thousands of dollars in prize money.
Our Mission
The need for and benefits of a regional high school pitch competition were first advocated by John Glazer of TechGROWTH Ohio in 2013. He proposed that such a program would enhance the valuable skills of:
– leadership
– creative problem-solving
– strategic communication
– financial planning
– overcoming adversity
Outcomes
The program sets participants up for future success with:
– college applications/attending college
– resumes/job interviewing
– entrepreneurial experience
– networking
– intrinsic motivation
– life skills
The Glockner Dare to Dream Pitch Competition, funded in part by TechGrowth Ohio, an Ohio Third Frontier initiative, is part of a robust regional ecosystem of services and funding aimed at developing and supporting entrepreneurs and accelerating area economic development from business ideas such as these. They are looking to the high school students for fresh ideas. https://www.techgrowthohio.com
